Job overview:

The Buyer will be responsible for ensuring demand accuracy within MRP, sourcing and qualifying vendors, negotiating pricing, planning purchased material supply and placing purchase orders to fulfill demand. The goal is to ensure the smooth and cost-efficient material flow to support our operations in a manner that demonstrates Everything is Important.

  • Accountable for ensuring the accuracy of part master data within MRP
  • Generates purchase requisitions and place Purchase Orders with suppliers, to meet demand
  • Accountable for on-time delivery of purchased material, at (or below) planned costs.
  • Evaluates price, reliability, quality, technical support, and availability of goods
  • Negotiates pricing with vendors to reduce total material cost
  • Manages suppliers for Cost, Quality, and Delivery
  • Identifies part supply constraints that may impact production schedule and create mitigation plans
  • Works in a cross-functional team environment as a strong team player and demonstrate ability to work with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goals
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or other relevant fields
  • Experience as Buyer, Purchasing Agent, Purchasing Specialist, or equivalent
  • Proven ability to onboard and contract pricing agreements with suppliers
  • Knowledge of procurement strategies

Preferred Education/Experience and/or Certifications

  • Proficient in Fishbowl or similar MRP systems
  • Experience in aerospace or automotive manufacturing
  • Prior experience in rapid growth environment
Skills/Abilities and Attributes
  • Proficient in MS Office, ERP systems, math, and statistics
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Team oriented, strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment and to multiple deadlines
