Inspired by the rare wide-body variant of the 911 Carrera Coupe from the 1980s | Reborn 4.0L, 4 valves per cylinder flat six with variable valve timing and water-cooled cylinder heads.
In the 1980’s you could order a new 911 Carrera with the pumped-up bodywork of the Turbo but powered by the company’s latest, naturally aspirated flat six. It became known as the Carrera with Super Sport Equipment. Our services reference this car and celebrate the era with a vision for an ultimate, naturally aspirated, G model 911, reimagined for the twenty-first century. At its heart is a remarkable flat-six, bringing together our learnings from the last fifteen years, and adding variable valve timing for the first time.
Each restoration begins with the owner’s Type 964 Porsche 911 and is personalized by them.
A Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Reimagined by Singer can be seen in the Supercar Paddock
The car is powered by a reborn Mezger flat-six engine based on the Type 964’s engine, now with 4.0L capacity. The engine represents multiple firsts. It is the first engine restored for a Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer to feature variable valve timing, optimizing drivability at low speeds, and power at high revs. It is also the first naturally aspirated engine restored by Singer to use water-cooled cylinder heads combined with air-cooled cylinders, utilizing learnings from the DLS Turbo program.
Restored and developed by Singer with engineering from Cosworth, the output increases to 420HP with redline over 8000 RPM. A newly developed titanium exhaust system is utilized. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission, with the help of traction control and electronic stability control developed with Bosch.

The process begins when the owner of a Type 964 Porsche 911 sends their car to Singer with the request to carry out a personalized restoration. The owner’s car is carefully disassembled. The interior is removed, as is the exterior bodywork and all mechanical components, until the steel monocoque (chassis) is revealed. The chassis is painstakingly assessed, cleaned, strengthened, and prepared so that it is in optimal condition for the next stages of the restoration.
Bespoke carbon fiber body panels are fitted, reimagining the iconic impact bumpers from the Porsche’s G Body era Porsche 911. Owners can opt for a track-focused restoration, with a fixed ‘whale tail’ rear spoiler and a track-oriented front fascia with larger splitter, or tailor their car for the road, with a speed-activated rear spoiler and road-oriented front fascia. Owners may request that their Type 964 is modified to accept both aero configurations. The front fascia and rear decklid assembly can be removed and switched, allowing ultimate personalization and freedom of choice for each owner. High-performance auxiliary driving lights may also be specified, rising from the front hood when activated and folding down flush when not in use.
