710 HP; twin-turbocharged evolution of DLS services | Bodywork inspired by Porsche’s racing cars from the 1970’s | Water-cooled cylinder heads
A Racecar reimagined for the road. DLS Turbo services brought the learnings and remarkable engine from DLS together with our expertise in turbocharging.
DLS Turbo services allow owners to celebrate an important chapter in the 911’s genesis as a motorsport icon – drawing inspiration from the mighty 934.5 endurance racer of 1977.
Each restoration is unique, and begins with the owner’s Type 964 Porsche 911.
DLS Turbo services can be seen at Singer’s main stand in front of the Stableyard and in the Supercar Paddock.
DLS Turbo services incorporate a twin-turbocharged, 9000rpm, 3.8L flat six, restored and developed by Singer, combining expertise in turbocharging with the remarkable engine developed through DLS services.
The reborn flat six is based on the Type 964’s engine and develops 710HP (SAE Net) with 3.8L capacity, 4-valves per cylinder, twin turbochargers, water-cooled cylinder heads, air-cooled cylinders and an electrically powered horizontal fan. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission with the help of traction control and electronic stability control developed with Bosch.

The process begins when the owner of a Type 964 Porsche 911 sends their car to Singer with the request to carry out a personalized restoration. The owner’s car is carefully disassembled. The interior is removed, as is the exterior bodywork and all mechanical components, until the steel monocoque (chassis) is revealed. The chassis is painstakingly assessed, cleaned, augmented with chassis strengthening, and prepared so that it is in optimal condition for the next stages of the restoration.
Lightweight carbon fiber bodywork is fitted, inspired by the rare 934.5 endurance racer from the late 1970s, enhancing chassis stiffness and cooling performance. Owners can opt for a track-focused restoration, with a high-downforce adjustable rear wing and a track-oriented front fascia with larger splitter, or tailor DLS Turbo services for the road, with an aero-optimized rear ducktail spoiler and road-oriented front fascia which reduce drag. Owners may request that their Type 964 is modified to accept both aero configurations. The front fascia and rear decklid assembly can be removed and switched, allowing ultimate personalization and freedom of choice for each owner.
